U of A NASTT Student Chapter

The North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) is committed to advancing trenchless technology and promoting more effective ways to manage underground infrastructure. In 2012, the NASTT University of Alberta Student Chapter was established to introduce U of A engineering students to trenchless technology and to forge relationships between industry and academia.

Industry, academics, and government from around the world have joined the NASTT network to keep up-to-date on the latest trenchless innovations and techniques. Being part of the student chapter is a great way to mingle with leading thinkers and potential employers, as well as challenge knowledge and skill in international competitions.

Student members participate in monthly U of A NASTT chapter presentations and have had the opportunity to represent the chapter at annual Northwest Chapter Conferneces, NASTT No-Dig shows and ASME International Pipeline Conferences.

NASTT UofA Wins 2012 Best Student Chapter

The U of A NASTT student chapter returned from 2012's international No-Dig Show with both the award for Best Student Chapter and the award for Closed-Circuit Television in a student design competition. The annual No-Dig Show hosted 71 students from 10 universities across North America, and challenged students to showcase their technical capabilities.

Building on this success, the chapter plans to bring together more trenchless enthusiasts, host more industry presentations, and continue to return to the annual international No-Dig Show.
